Wills

Whether your affairs are simple or complex, our team of solicitors are able to advise you on the options available to you when preparing your Will.

Our Private Client team can help you prepare a Will which will take into account your personal circumstances and requirements which may include inheritance tax planning, for example, making use of the new Residential Nil Rate Band exemption (if applicable).

Before you come to see us you should consider who you will appoint as executor(s), whether guardians will be required for your children, and who they will be, what kind of funeral you would like and whether you would like to leave specific items to certain people.

Furthermore, you may wish to consider more complex issues such as; how you can ensure children from a first marriage will benefit on your death, or how to preserve some of the matrimonial home for your children should you end up in local authority care?

All of these issues and more can be discussed at our initial appointment.  We will then provide you with a draft of your Will for you to consider before we finalise matters at a further meeting.
