Private client team 2020 at GoodyBurrett LLP Solicitors

GoodyBurrett’s private client team is led by Sue Mullis, Chartered Legal Executive. Our team are usually based in Colchester; however, they are also regularly at our office in Dunmow.

Sue qualified in 1995, specialising in Wills, Trusts and Probate. Sue has built up an extremely successful department over the years and has worked with several generations of families here in Colchester and the surrounding areas.

Victoria Bibby joined in 2005, having been qualified as a Solicitor since 2001, she assists and advises the team on all private client matters, especially focussing on the financial and accounting aspects of these. Victoria successfully manages several of our Trust accounts and is regularly involved with their annual reviews including the Trustees, family members, Financial Advisors and Accountants.

Helen Firth then joined in 2017, having recently qualified in 2016 as a Private Client Solicitor involving all aspects of Wills, Probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney and taking a specialism in Court of Protection and Mental Capacity matters. Helen has advised and assisted clients and their families in numerous matters arising in the Court of Protection and the High Court. As a qualified Dementia Friend, this has enabled Helen to raise awareness and understanding of our clients and their families living with dementia.

Louise Repper and Georgina Leighton joined the firm in September 2019.

Once qualified in 2016, Louise moved to the charity sector working in the Legacy Department for one of the top 5 charities. Returning to private practice, she now assists and advises on all matters surrounding Wills, Probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection. Louise is currently involved with a number of Probate matters ranging from straightforward non-taxable estates to substantial and complex taxable estates, involving Financial Advisors and Accountants. Louise is also a Dementia Friend and like Helen, has been trained to deal with clients and their families living with dementia.

Georgina, having qualified in 2010 as a Solicitor, can assist and advise in all private client areas including Wills, Probate, Lasting Powers of Attorney and specialises in matters related to Care Fees and NHS Continuing Care Applications, from Decision Support Tool Stage through to appeal the final funding decision. Georgina currently manages several of our attorney files here and has been involved in matters requiring accommodation moves and financial assessments, ensuring that the client’s best interest is of upmost importance.

The team at GoodyBurrett also includes support staff Jane Maher and Stevie Vass who work closely with all our fee earners. Their skills and attributes are key to our working team here at GoodyBurrett.

Jane has been with GoodyBurrett since 2006 and provides invaluable administrative support to the fee earners. She supports the department in all areas of their work and is extremely dedicated to providing an exceptional service to our clients.

Stevie is the newest member to the team, joining the firm on work experience before becoming support staff. He is currently on a gap year before starting University in October 2020. Stevie has taken to his supportive role very quickly and works extremely well with the team.
